The first payment for the 2026 HFC quota under Regulation (EU) 2024/573 is due in autumn 2025, with producers and importers of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) required to pay €3 per tonne of CO₂ equivalent.
This payment requirement will apply every year thereafter, with payments due in autumn for the following year's quota.
To facilitate this process, the Commission will publish detailed information and instructions on the payment procedure in the F-gas Portalin September 2025.
